Job Description:
1- HW Administration (Servers and storage) Management and monitoring
– Use Server HW management to Manage servers HW and to monitor HW status along with periodically physical inspection to check HW status and proactively handle any failure may happen during the operation
– Use Storage management Utility to manage storage pools and volumes, also, to keep the storage capacity, volumes, pools and disks maintained and under monitoring
– Handle storage provisioning requests to achieve the storage requirements for the application side
Ø Create New Volumes
Ø Modify\Expanding Existing Volumes
Ø Add\remove Hosts
Ø Attach\detach hosts to volumes
Ø Create\remove Hosts Initiators
– Identify any HW failure and troubleshooting then apply initial actions recommended by the vendor for the known issues (if found).
2- Microsoft Hyper-V Administration
– Manage and monitor Hyper-V environment to keep it always clear
– Handle all requests (Create new VM, edit VM settings, edit VM HW specs and all other applicable actions according to the available license).
– Prepare the New VMs with the required OS as requests and install all required updates.
– Periodically check new updates for all Hyper-V environment, and prepare plan of required action for MCIT operation team, then to apply after their approval.
– Troubleshoot operation problems and fix it (if applicable), then to open support case with the vendor with the available SLA to fix the issue.
3- Microsoft DC And DFS administration
– Install, configure and manage Microsoft Domain Controller Forests
– Install, configure and Microsoft DFS server, and mange the data transferring between sites.
4- SQL Database Administration
– Manage and monitor Microsoft SQL server’s database.
– Install and maintain the performance of database servers.
– Monitor system’s health and performance
– Set and maintain database standards.
– Manage database access.
– Performance tuning of database systems.
– Analyze, solve, and correct issues.
– Handle SQL database requests (create new instances, backup, restore and repair if applicable)
5- Backup solution (Veeam Backup software + Dell Data Domain) Administration
– Manage the Veeam Backup solution and the StoreOnce appliance and ensure it always clear for a healthy backup environment
– Check backup jobs daily to ensure backups are run to schedule and retention is met, then the backup operation is 100% properly operated.
– Create new backup job as required to ensure all data is protected.
– Verify all full backup jobs
– Maintain an audit trail of backups and restores.
– Perform restore operations as required
– Monitor and configuring HPE StoreOnce Storage and networking from ILO management and proactively take the necessary action to always keep storage in good state.
– Identify any HW failure and troubleshooting then apply initial actions recommended by the vendor for the known issues (if found).
