Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the configuration, deployment, and troubleshooting of Cisco networking devices (routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points).
- Support the implementation and maintenance of SD-WAN solutions (Cisco SD-WAN, Meraki, or similar).
- Monitor and optimize network performance using Riverbed WAN optimization and visibility tools.
- Maintain and troubleshoot LAN, WAN, WLAN, and VPN connectivity.
- Collaborate with senior engineers on network design, capacity planning, and upgrades.
- Monitor network health and performance using tools such as Solar Winds, PRTG, or Riverbed Steel Central.
- Document network configurations, diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
- Ensure compliance with network security standards and assist in firewall policy management.
- Provide technical support and escalate issues as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 1–2 years of professional experience in network administration or support.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco routing, switching, and firewall technologies.
- Exposure to SD-WAN deployment and support (Cisco SD-WAN, Meraki, or Viptela preferred).
- Familiarity with Riverbed WAN optimization and performance monitoring tools.
- Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and VPN technologies.
- Basic knowledge of network security and troubleshooting methodologies.
Preferred Skills
- CCNA certification (or working towards it) strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of network monitoring and packet capture tools (Wireshark, SteelCentral).
- Familiarity with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a plus.
- Scripting skills (Python, PowerShell, or Ansible) for automation is a plus.
